10 Films Advance to Compete for the Visual Effects Category at Oscar

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has narrowed down the list of films competing for the Visual Effects category to 10.  Most of the films who made the list are no surprise, but Man of Steel, which was honestly all about the visual effects did not make the list. There is usually one major contender that does not make the list, and this year thats Man of Steel.

On Oscar nomination morning this list will be narrowed down to 5.  At the moment my predictions are:

Gravity 

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Iron Man 3 

Pacific Rim 

World War Z
