The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful lead the2014 Daytime Emmy Nominations

What a mixed bag of a morning, the nominees must be very excited, but the question is, will these awards even be aired on television or will they just be streamed live?  The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) foolishly turned down a deal to show this on TVGN, the revamped network that used to tell you what was on the the air.  TVGN has been showing re-runs of soaps, and they have been doing well.  NATAS has been in talks with ABC apparently, and I hope that works out otherwise this show will spiral down even further from last year's joke of a telecast on HLN.

I have not followed many shows this year, but I know people were saying The Young and the Restless was the worst, and look there it leads the nominees with 24.  The Daytime Emmy Awards have always missed the boat on honoring "the best."  Bold and the Beautiful is second with 18 nominations.  The biggest story on the Drama Series front is that One Life to Live, which aired on Hulu got in over General Hospital, I do not think anyone saw that coming.  General Hospital was still the third most nominated show at these awards with 16 nominations.  Days of Our Lives, which won the award last year was nominated again and got 14 nominations.  One Life to Live got 7.

If you look below you see the full list of the main drama categories, and the other "big" categories at the Daytime Emmy Awards.  I just hope they find a home.
